Cobb Salad
Ingredients:
For the Salad:
- 6 cups mixed greens (such as romaine, butter lettuce, or iceberg)
- 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded (grilled, roasted, or poached)
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 large avocado, diced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles (or feta for a milder option)
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 cucumber, sliced (optional)
For the Dressing (Classic Vinaigrette):
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
For the Salad:
- Prepare the ingredients: Arrange the mixed greens on a large platter or in individual bowls.
- Assemble the toppings: Neatly arrange the chicken, bacon, avocado, eggs, tomatoes, blue cheese, and any optional ingredients (onion, cucumber) in rows on top of the lettuce.
For the Dressing:
Whisk the vinaigrette: In a small bowl, whisk together the red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper. Gradually whisk in the olive oil until the dressing is well combined and smooth.
Taste and adjust: Adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, or vinegar, as needed.
